1938 Gibson EH-100 Lap Steel Electric Hawaiian Guitar was handcrafted in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and features a sunburst lacquer finish, maple body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, and the original tweed hard shell case. These semi-hollow body steels have a very rich, powerful tone with a lot of definition. It's a great-sounding and playing guitar, as well as a stylish instrument with a classic Gibson look!
This Gibson EH-100 is fitted with the second generation blade pickup with the U-shaped magnet. This allowed Gibson to make the body a bit sturdier, doing away with the screwed-on back body plate of the original 1936 design. Another improvement from this era is that both the volume and tone controls are on the treble side and out of the player’s way. Pickups of this era are widely regarded as being among the finest sounding lap steel guitars in Gibson history, in addition to being one of the first successful electric instruments.

This lap steel guitar is lovely, with its maple body, rosewood fingerboard, and printed Gibson logo headstock. It shows signs of use but remains original and is a wonderful sounding instrument. The finish on the front is mostly clean. The curly maple back has a collection of light dings and dents from normal use. The sunburst lacquer has a deep, rich color!
