1937 Gibson EH-100 Black and White “Tuxedo” Lap Steel Electric Hawaiian Guitar

1938 Gibson EH-100 Lap Steel Electric Hawaiian Guitar was handcrafted in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It features a cool tuxedo style black lacquer finish with a cream pickup bobbin. It has a maple body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, and the original hard shell case. These semi-hollow body steels have a very rich, powerful tone with a lot of definition. It's a great-sounding and playing guitar, as well as a stylish instrument with a classic Gibson look! 

This Gibson EH-100 is fitted with Gibson's original "Charlie Christian" blade pickup with large magnets! This allows for a powerful, full bodied sound. Pickups of this era are widely regarded as being among the finest sounding lap steel guitars in Gibson history, in addition to being one of the first successful electric instruments.

The CC pickup was only available on the EH’s earliest configurations. Not long after this example was made Gibson started gluing the backs on the EH models and moved to a smaller U shaped magnet version of the blade style pickup.

This lap steel guitar is lovely. It remains almost entirely original and is a wonderful sounding instrument. One tuner has been replaced with a vintage correct part that has an identical footprint and does not distract from its classy look. The finish is very clean and only has a few light marks from normal use. It comes with its original hard case which is also in great shape.
