1930s Weissenborn Style 4 Kona Hawaiian Lap Steel Guitar
1930s Weissenborn Style 4 Kona Hawaiian Lap Steel Guitar
This circa 1930 Koa wood Weissenborn made Style 4 Kona Hawaiian lap steel guitar is in great shape. We have a love for Konas and this one is special. It plays perfectly in tune, better than other Konas we've had.
The guitar is 99% original and even has the original hard shell case to go with it, the first Kona hard case we've seen! The guitar is currently set up with a fresh set of strings in a G tuning (GBDGBD but will work well in high and low bass G and A tunings, and C6.
Overall length: 37 1/2 in. (95.2 cm.)
Lower Bout: 13 1/4 in. (33.7 cm.)
Depth: 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.)
Scale length: 25 in. (635 mm.).
Nut Width:1 7/8 in. (48 mm.).
It has finish checking throughout and other age-appropriate marks from use. There are some deeper scratches on the back. The top does have a belly behind the bridge, which looks to have been reattached professionally prior to its arrival here. The only non-original part detected is its metal bridge saddle. It has a lovely tone and great sustain.
