1920s Supertone 456 Mahogany Soprano Ukulele
1920s Supertone 456 Mahogany Soprano Ukulele
This lovely little soprano ukulele is a Supertone. It was made in Chicago by Harmony in the 1920s and features a natural finish, a very small soprano mahogany body, poplar neck, and its original canvas soft shell case. This is a great example of an early mainland-built "Hawaiian" style ukulele. It plays very well up the neck and sounds really wonderful, with a classic early uke tone with a strong cutting power. Because of the wide string spacing its a great rhythm ukulele, but it works very well for finger-style as well.
